Drift Doesn't Announce Itself
If you already have a calibration program, this isn’t a warning — it’s validation. Drift happens to every instrument, in every environment, regardless of how carefully it’s maintained.
The question isn’t whether drift occurs. It’s whether you have the data to prove your measurements were valid when it mattered most.
For regulated and performance-critical industries — telecom, semiconductor, broadcasting, aerospace, and defense — current calibration data helps reduce the risk of incorrect RF power readings, false pass/fail decisions, off-spec system performance, failed acceptance testing, and avoidable downtime.
For semiconductor environments: unreliable RF power measurements can also contribute to process variation or process excursions, especially where RF power delivery is part of a controlled manufacturing step.
"A calibration sticker tells an auditor your instrument was serviced. A certificate with before-and-after measurement data tells them it was accurate — and that you can prove it."
Every application has different calibration, documentation, and compliance requirements. Whether you need standard traceable calibration, recorded measurement data, or ISO/IEC 17025 accredited calibration, Bird Service Center offers service options designed to support your quality system and measurement objectives.

Your customer, contract, auditor, or quality system specifically requires accredited calibration.
Choose the calibration level that matches your quality, compliance, and documentation requirements.
Receive a NIST-traceable calibration with a calibration certificate for routine maintenance and quality control.
You need routine calibration with a traceable calibration certificate, but don't require documented measurement data or accredited calibration.
You need documented proof of measurement accuracy, before-and-after calibration data, or records to support customer or internal quality requirements.
Receive documented proof of measurement accuracy along with your calibration certificate.
You need documented proof that your instrument met specifications or need measurement records for customers or internal quality requirements.
Your customer, industry, or quality system requires ISO/IEC 17025 accredited calibration performed by an A2LA-accredited laboratory.
Receive ISO/IEC 17025 accredited calibration with documented measurement data and A2LA accreditation.
Your industry, customer, contract, auditor, or quality system requires ISO/IEC 17025 accredited calibration.
Start an RMA request and enter your model information. If A2LA calibration or repair isn't available for your equipment, you'll be notified during the request process.
Choose this when your Bird equipment may need repair before it can be calibrated.
Your equipment is damaged, not operating properly, failing calibration, or showing performance issues.
Select Repair + Calibration if you believe the issue is more than normal calibration drift. Bird will evaluate the equipment, complete approved repairs, recalibrate it to the selected certification level, and perform a final quality check.

Most RF test equipment should be calibrated on a regular schedule, often annually, depending on usage, environment, internal quality requirements, and customer or regulatory expectations. Instruments used in critical, regulated, or high-use applications may require a more formal calibration interval.
Choose Calibration with Data when you need documented proof of your instrument's measurement accuracy. In addition to a NIST-traceable calibration certificate, you'll receive before-and-after measurement results that show how the instrument performed during calibration.
This service is ideal for organizations that need calibration records for customers, internal quality programs, or audit support. If you only need a calibration certificate, Standard Calibration is typically sufficient.
Choose A2LA / ISO/IEC 17025 accredited calibration when your customer, contract, auditor, or quality management system requires calibration performed by an accredited laboratory.
This is common in defense, aerospace, semiconductor, government, and other compliance-driven environments where a standard calibration certificate may not be enough.
No. Not every Bird instrument is eligible for A2LA accredited calibration.
When you begin an RMA request and enter your model information, we'll automatically verify whether A2LA calibration is available for your equipment.
Bird combines NIST-traceable and accredited calibration services with OEM expertise. Because Bird designed and manufactures the equipment, our technicians use factory test procedures and product-specific knowledge to evaluate instrument performance beyond simply verifying published specifications.
This can help identify early signs of drift or wear before they become field problems, giving you greater confidence in your instrument's performance.
