Bird Launches 4042E-PTT: Advanced Channel Power Monitoring with Push-to-Talk Activation and Expanded I/O

Solon, OH – May 1, 2025 – Bird, a global leader in RF measurement and monitoring solutions, announces the launch of the 4042E-PTT, an enhanced Ethernet-enabled Channel Power Sensor designed to bring more flexibility, precision, and control to critical RF systems. 

Building on the proven performance of Bird’s 4042E platform, the new 4042E-PTT introduces Push-to-Talk (PTT) triggered monitoring and adds flexible system interfacing through new user-configurable I/O input, making it ideal for high-reliability RF networks such as public safety, utilities, aviation, and industrial communications.

• Ethernet and SNMP Connectivity: Native 10/100/1000BASE-T interface with SNMP support for GET/SET and TRAP functions, enabling remote monitoring and management.
• Web-Based GUI with Password Protection: No software to install. Access detailed channel-level and aggregate RF measurements from any browser.
• Field-Proven Accuracy: Measures average forward and reflected power, plus VSWR, across 100 to 1000 MHz with ±5% reading accuracy.
