On August 11, 2023, Bird Technologies Group Inc., a family-owned Solon, Ohio based manufacturer of precision-engineered RF test and measurement equipment announced that Dr. Amr Abdelmonem has been appointed by the Board of Directors to the position of President and CEO succeeding Terry Grant, who passed away unexpectedly in March 2023.

Dr. Abdelmonem comes to Bird with 30+ years’ experience in the RF technology sector and most recently was the President of an Illinois based technology firm that develops, manufactures, and sells high differentiated RF and wireless infrastructure solutions. He received his PhD in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from the University of Maryland and his MBA from the University of Chicago – Booth School of Business.

Dr. Abdelmonem began his career with Illinois Super Conductor Corporation. (“ISCC”) in 1995. In his role as Chief Executive Officer, he spearheaded the growth of the organization and as a result ISCC was named as of the 50 fastest growing technology companies in Chicagoland by Deloitte & Touche during his tenure. Thereafter, he most recently ascended to the position of President of ISCO International, a Chicagoland-based technology firm that develops and markets highly differentiated RF and wireless infrastructure solutions.
