Solon, OH - March 20203/23/2020 - The health and well-being of our Bird employees, customers, suppliers, and partner communities is our top priority. Early on as COVID-19 began to spread to other parts of the world, Bird established a Pandemic Preparedness Team which has representatives from all key business functions inside of Bird operating with two primary priorities: protecting our own employees and ensuring business continuity for our customers.
While remaining vigilant and following recommendations from the World Health Organization (WHO), the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), federal and local governing bodies, Bird has established specific safety measures in our facilities and offices to safeguard our associates as they continue to develop, produce, and ship products, as well as, perform other value add services that are critical to our customers. Our Bird teams are equipped with the tools and capabilities to continue to actively communicate with you and service your needs.
As of March 23rd, 2020, Governor Mike DeWine of Ohio, with exceptions, has enacted a “Stay at Home” order for all non-essential work, travel, and businesses within the state of Ohio.
Owned and operated in the state of Ohio, Bird has been deemed an “Essential Business” in Ohio. For 78 years Bird has provided essential services and equipment for mission-critical communications in the Military, Public Safety, Semiconductor, and Broadband TV/Media markets, and will continue to do so during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Of course, we’re in uncharted territory with this global event. We are adjusting our business to ensure our employees are safe while allowing customers to receive the critical products and services they need. Where state or local municipalities have announced “shelter in place” orders, Bird will continue to supply to “essential businesses” in markets such as Military, Government, Public Safety, Semiconductor, and Media customers. We endeavor to serve these mission critical customers while maintaining the health and safety of our employees.
