NFPA Compliant Battery Backup Units

Uninterruptible Backup Voltage

The 6160 Battery Backup Units from Bird are designed to provide uninterruptible backup voltage for critical signal boosters during times of power loss or outage. The backup unit can maintain full continuous operation of the signal booster for a minimum of either 12 or 24 hours, depending on system requirements. The integrated battery charger and monitor system maintains peak battery level when the main power source is present. LED status indicators and auxiliary alarm connections facilitate remote monitoring.

When used in conjunction with a NFPA/IFC signal booster, the battery backup system provides a fully compliant solution to NFPA72, NFPA1221, or IFC.

  • Maintenance-free, sealed, high capacity lead acid batteries.
  • Housed in a red, NEMA4 rated enclosure.
  • Two models available to meet backup requirements.
  • On board and remote monitoring capability.
  • Batteries maintain constant full charge via main power source in order to be ready when needed.
