REACH Statement
Bird Technologies is committed to meeting the requirements of the European Union (EU) REACH Regulation (EC 1907/2006) concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals. We are actively working with our suppliers to eliminate or reduce these restricted substances that are used in our manufacturing processes. We monitor the additions of Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) to the Candidate List (currently at 233 as of January 17th, 2023). For a Bird product that contains a SVHC above the threshold of 0.1% by weight, specific substance information by part number may be provided by contacting Compliance.request@birdrf.com.
RoHS Statement
The Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Directive was adopted by the European Union (EU) in 2003. RoHS restricts the use of lead (Pb), mercury (Hg), cadmium (Cd), hexavalent chromium (Cr6+), polybrominated biphenyls (PBB), and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) in electronic equipment. China RoHS 2 restricts the same six substances, but rules for compliance vary. DEHP, BBP, DBP, and DIBP were added as part of Directive (EU) 2015/863.
Bird’s products adhere to the environmental regulations established by RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU (sometimes referred to as RoHS2) and corresponding EU Directive 2015/863. The Directive allows for specific exemptions from the requirements of Article 4(1) per the Annex. The following exemptions apply to many of our products.
- Exemption 6 (b & c) – Lead as an alloying element in steel containing up to 0.35% lead by weight, and aluminum containing up to 0.4% lead by weight and as a copper alloy containing up to 4% by weight.
- Because of their good electrical and RF properties, we use many of the copper alloys that use up to 4% lead.
If you require a RoHS status statement, please contact Compliance.request@birdrf.com.
